Concert: 7 Decades 

Featuring musicians Kaila Flexer (violin, tarhui), Gari Hegedus (oud, saz and tarhu) and Elana Brutman (cretan lyra with sympathetic strings)

Kaila writes- My parents, Abe and Bobbie, met in their 6^th grade classroom at Scranton Elementary, New Haven, CN. Abe and Bobbie are now 83 and have been together for over 7 Decades and are still madly in love! Their relationship is completely egalitarian. They are also two of the kindest and most generous people I know.  Over the years, I’ve written them many compositions for their milestone birthdays, anniversaries and more recently pieces about my Mom’s diagnosis (2 years ago) and treatment of Grey Zone Lymphoma.

I have been honing these pieces and began collaborating on arranging them with Gari Hegedus and Elana Brutman in the last several months. We are going to record 7 Decades in tribute to my parents and we’re doing a series of local concerts before going into the studio. We look forward to sharing these compositions with you!
