Please join fingerstyle guitarists Teja Gerken, Doug Young, and Pete Madsen for an intimate evening of acoustic guitar music at Berkeley’s Timbre Folk and Baroque.

Having performed together for more than a decade, Bay Area fingerstyle guitarists Teja Gerken and Doug Youngare finally working on album of duets. Drawing from their individual catalogs of originals, traditional Celtic tunes, arrangements of jazz standards, and some classical pieces, Teja and Doug are having fun with a varied repertoire. Known in the guitar community as being serious gearheads, Teja and Doug are digging deep into their collection of acoustic instruments, and as such, the recordings will feature standard six-strings as well as baritone, classical, resonator, and even a miniature 12-string guitar.

Tonight’s host Pete Madsen is the Bay Area’s premier acoustic blues and slide guitarist and teacher. Playing both originals and standards from the blues repertoire, Pete creates authentic tones on his steel-string flatop and National resonator guitars.
